Background: Jacqueline Aronowitz, a graduate of the University of Redlands, is a freelance flutist in the Inland Empire area in Southern California. She has studied with many different teachers including James Walker at the University of Southern California, Michael Taylor at the New England Conservatory of music; Lois Schaefer formerly with the Boston Symphony Orchestra; Herr Helmut Zangerle of the Mozarteum of Salzburg, Austria; Candice Palmberg, former principle Flutist with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra; Philip Swanson, Flute instructor at Northern Arizona State University; Lee Ann Stickney at La Sierra University; Cynthia Kelley with the Inland Empire Symphony; and Lucille Lawrence with the Boston University Tanglewood harp program.
Qualifications: In the past she has performed with many different ensembles including the Redlands Symphony Orchestra, principal flutist with the University of Redlands Chamber Orchestra, the Redlands Civic Orchestra, the California State San Bernardino University Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, the University of Redlands Symphony Band, the Redlands Fourth of July Band, the San Bernardino Valley Wind Symphony, and several small Chamber ensembles such as a woodwind quintet, a local professional flute choir: Sweet Silver, the Dahlia Arts Trio for flute, oboe and clarinet, and a trio for flute, Violin and Viola. She has also had many opportunities to perform solo works for audiences in joint and solo recitals, and attend many master classes with other flutist such as Yoko Owada, Janet Ferguson, Anne Giles, James Galway, Doriot Dwyer, Leone Buyse, Geoffrey Gilbert, William Bennett, Charles Delaney, James Pellerite, and Jim Walker.
Previously, Jacqueline taught for four years in the Redlands Elementary School District as a Music Specialist, she taught private group lessons and Flute choir at the California State Los Angeles Saturday Conservatory of Music, and taught flute at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga. She is currently conducting an amateur flute ensemble called Silver Sounds, principal flute with the Inland Valley Symphony, she teaches flute at San Bernardino Valley College, Loma Linda Academy, and has built a successful studio of private students out of her home.

Student Successes: August 2005-Amber Benavides will be a Freshman in College, Majoring in Archeology and minoring in music.
August 2004-Rachel Terrell was accepted to the University of Redlands Music program, will be a Sophomore Flute Major.
July 2005-Katie Roque was accepted into the Summer Music camp at the University of Redlands.
Strengths: Her biggest strength is her ability to motivate her students into studying flute seriously, and then transferring what they have learned in music into their everyday lives.

Other Info: My students attend Quarterly Performance classes, perform regularly through programs sponsored by the Music Teacher's Association, and perform in yearly recital. My studio emphasizes performance and major envolvement in playing in ensembles.
